About This Place

Le Colonial Atlanta offers an exquisite Vietnamese dining experience nestled in the heart of Buckhead at 3035 Peachtree Rd NE. This restaurant beautifully marries authentic Southeast Asian flavors with an atmosphere that transports guests far from the bustle of Atlanta, evoking the charm and elegance of a French colonial setting in Vietnam. From the moment you step inside, you feel enveloped in a warm, inviting ambiance that is at once sophisticated and comfortably intimate, making it an ideal choice for everything from celebratory dinners to memorable date nights.

The menu at Le Colonial is a vibrant showcase of Vietnamese culinary artistry, highlighted by an impressive array of both classic and innovative dishes. Guests rave about standout small plates such as the Pan Seared Chicken Dumplings — delicately seasoned with scallions and ginger and served alongside a tangy black vinegar sauce that accentuates the natural umami. The Cha Gio Crispy Shrimp & Pork Roll offers a satisfying crunch paired with savory fillings, embodying the textures that make Vietnamese cuisine so memorable.

For those seeking a lighter bite, the Bo Bia Chilled Vegetable Roll and the vibrant Goi Bo Spicy Beef Carpaccio Salad offer refreshing bursts of flavor filled with fresh herbs, zesty heat, and crisp textures. Seafood lovers will eagerly anticipate the CA Hoi Nuong Roasted Salmon, praised for its unexpected creamy richness that almost melts on the palate, creating a luxurious mouthfeel unusual for typical salmon preparations. Intriguing dishes like the Cari Tom Green Shrimp Curry also deliver a satisfyingly rich coconut flavor, striking a perfect balance between spice and creaminess.

The large plates focus on hearty, homestyle Vietnamese comfort food with elevated touches. The Ginger Chicken Claypot is a triumph of braised chicken thighs, imbued with aromatic ginger and caramelized fish sauce, complemented by crisp haricots verts and toasted cashews. Meanwhile, the Shrimp Stir-Fry blends jumbo shrimp with fresh asparagus and sweet Vidalia onions, marrying heat and sweetness with every bite. If you’re tempted by traditional, indulgent fare, the Vit Quay Half Roasted Duck serves two with succulent, flavorful meat that consistently draws praise for its perfectly balanced seasoning.

Dessert at Le Colonial is equally compelling, with the Vanilla Crème Brûlée earning special mention from patrons who celebrate its perfectly caramelized crust and rich, silky custard beneath. To round out the meal, their cocktail offerings, particularly the Hanoi Coffee Espresso Martini Remix and the fragrant Lychee Martini, create an elegant finish to the dining experience, broadening the sensory palette with their intriguing blends and smooth execution.

Real guest testimonials affirm the quality and authenticity that Le Colonial consistently delivers. Jennie Hu describes the ambiance as "stunning," perfectly capturing the sensation of dining in a Southeast Asian country without leaving Atlanta. Steve Cho’s praise of the salmon's creaminess and the overall excellence of dishes like the shrimp rolls and ribs reinforces the restaurant’s reputation for culinary precision and flavor harmony. While some guests note moments where service could be more attentive, the overall consensus emphasizes the food’s exceptional quality and the atmosphere’s charm as dominant reasons to return.

Whether you are a local enthusiast of Vietnamese cuisine or a visitor eager to explore rich flavors and intricate preparations, Le Colonial Atlanta envelops you in an authentic, refined experience. It is a place where delicate textures meet bold spices, traditional recipes are lovingly crafted, and the ambiance invites you to linger long after the last bite.

The restaurant's ambiance is stunning. It truly feels like being in a Southeast Asian country. I blindly ordered five dishes, and none of them were disappointing. The pork short rib tasted very similar to braised pork. The ribs were a nice mix of fat and lean, preserving Asian dietary habits. Cocktails are all very delicious. The shrimp green curry had a rich coconut flavor, as expected. The ginger glazed chicken in a clay pot tasted a bit like three-cup chicken and was delicious. Highly recommended. The seabass had a refreshing, sour tomato flavor and was surprisingly delicious. The drunken beef was a bit tough. The beef pho soup noodle soup base was sweet. It was just the typical beef noodle soup flavor you'd expect. I don't think it was worth ordering here (it's a bit pricey).

The food was very good and full of authentic flavors. Overall, it was a nice experience. I would just add a small note that a bit more attentiveness from the staff would make it even better. Still, definitely worth visiting for the food.

Arrived at 8:30pm on a Tuesday Night and it was crowded! I made the mistake of booking the reservation outside but the waiter was decent enough to get us a booth inside. The new waitress was nice but just ok. Maybe since we were the last table of the night. Food was great tho. We tried a few things. I wouldn't say its a Great date night place because its pretty tight quarters with people everywhere but still a nice cool restaurant with great food. Although we didnt like the chocolate cake dessert lol. Will a different one next time.

Great creme brûlée. The salmon has this very interesting creaminess to it that it almost melts in your mouth — probably the best experience of me having salmon thus far (I don’t usually like it). Green beans , pork ribs: delicious, shrimp rolls , shrimp ceviche: . Everything is good! The Hanoi coffee espresso martini remix is really good too! Highly recommended! Good place to celebrate something, like a birthday or anniversary. You wont regret it!

We often visit Ke Colonial. We particularly enjoy the green papaya salad, which is the best, the excellent tuna tartar, the memorable half duck, and, of course, the lychee martini. Overall, it is a wonderful dining experience.

Le Colonial is basically a fancy PJ Chang’s, not that that’s a bad thing exactly. It’s a pretty restaurant, with a rich color palette and views of the buckhead village district. Mood lighting and fresh flowers to boot. Usually I come here with family who are from out of town and want to go to Le Colonial when they are in the city. This time, our bill was $400 between three of us. For that price, there are more sophisticated options nearby. Let’s start with the drinks. The party I was with had no complaints with theirs - (but they had nothing to say about their drinks either). If you are sober and want a mocktail though, the ones on the menu are basically $14 Shirley temples - kids drinks with a fancy name. I drank the second one on the list down quickly, not because it was good, but because I was waiting to see if the server would see the glass empty and ask me if I wanted something else. The server did not. I candidly thought this was insulting - not the server, but the mocktail. You can get a good mocktail at Lucian Books and Wine of all places. From there things improved. 1. The papaya salad was just okay (I’d pick a different salad). 2. The raviolis were tasty (so maybe pick those instead of the papaya salad, or get some of the table sharing items). 3. The shaking beef was good and eliminated the need for the papaya salad. Everything picked up at dessert, including the service. I had the sundae with a lavazza coffee and it was very decadent and satisfying. All in all, another pleasant outing, but this is not a foodie experience. I’d recommend it for the pho or for dessert.

We had a wonderful experience at Le Colonial, thanks to Fatima. Her service was excellent from start to finish—very attentive without being intrusive. She made fantastic recommendations that we loved, and the food was absolutely delicious. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the entire staff was wonderful. Fatima truly elevated our dining experience, and we’ll definitely be back!
